This generation of games was born of era of Facebook social games that took the web by storm. It served as the basis for successful Fantasy Moguls products and would influence our game ethos in upcoming generations.
These games were almost entirely exclusive to the browser, targeting the wide audience of Facebook and CBS Sports users. Given the web platform, we leaned into rapid iteration and experimentation, quickly churning out new products that innovated on our core game design.
Our flagship product, Franchise Football, had a new successful release every year.
Rooted in ratings, stats, and simulations, our games offer a light and casual front office management experience. While there is a veil of realism, many of the game mechanics outside of the simulation don't mimic true sports management like our more hardcore counterparts.
Offering users the ability to create their own unique team of players from all decades allows for a level of expressions users can't get through the more traditional Fantasy or console sports experiences.
As the Facebook web game audience started to migrate to mobile platforms, we also began to port our most popular franchises to mobile, supporting cross-platform play.
Over the iterations, we made a series of leaps and expansions in design: Season structured play and progression, strategic elements such as plays and playbooks, player training, front office staff, competitive game modes, achievements, moments in sports history, and an endgame progression.
The past few iterations have introduced a focus on players as collectible cards, encouraging users to collect and obtain multiple editions of the same player and complete sets to earn endgame content.
